Delisha Hodo, Undergraduate Cybersecurity Student Advisor & SANS+HBCU Chair

Delisha comes from an educational non-profit background, spending 5 years supporting K12 students and their families through the college process. Her passion for serving and supporting students inspired her transition into higher education, where she is now able to continue that support while shaping their academic experience. She also leads the SANS+HBCU initiative of exposing students to Cybersecurity through free training and certifications. 

Madison Metivier, Graphic/Production Artist, CNN Plus; Creative Director, CodeHouse 

Madison graduated from Howard University with a B.F.A in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History. She has devoted her professional career to the creative world. This passion has led her to employment with companies such as Pentagram (under Micheal Bierut and Eddie Opara), The Hirshhorn Museum, New York Fashion Week and AT&T. Madison went on to found her own design consulting agency, Ojii Creative, along with two other founding partners in 2018. To date, the agency has worked with clients such as Universal Music Group, Harvard Business School, The Roots, and many more. In 2021 Madison was recognized by the Indigo Design Awards for her digital art series entitled, ‘A Study In Black Female Afrofuturism’ in the category of ‘Design for Social Change’. Currently, she is a graphic/production artist at CNN Plus (launching in early 2022), creative partner at Ojii Creative, and serves as creative director for Codehouse Corporation.

Sal Khan will moderate a live panel discussion on YouTube and Facebook with these three panelists: 

High school students, if you’ve ever said to yourself “college isn’t for me,” this free live event is for you. The skills you develop in high school and college can help you prepare for many different types of careers, from fashion design to software engineering, and from cybersecurity to becoming an entrepreneur. 

In this event you’ll hear from a panel of recent high school grads who will discuss 5 high-paying career paths, how they decided what to do after high school, and what advice they’d give their younger selves. The panelists will also share tips on how to afford college and what to do if you feel academically unprepared for college. Sal Khan from Khan Academy will moderate the discussion. Ernest Holmes, Software Engineer, Google; President and Co-Founder, CodeHouse 

Ernest Holmes is a proud 2019 graduate of Morehouse College. After completing three internships at Google as a software engineer and receiving several offers from major tech companies, Ernest decided to start his career as a Software Engineer at Google on the Fuchsia team. During his time in silicon valley, Ernest realized the importance of exposing students of color to the opportunities in tech and decided to co-found CodeHouse which supports students of color interested in the tech industry. So far, CodeHouse has impacted thousands of high school and middle school students coast to coast by providing them opportunities to engage with diverse representatives from companies like PayPal, Google, and Microsoft. CodeHouse also has raised just under $2 million to provide scholarships, technical training, and mentorship to early-career HBCU students.
